Getting Around Cambridge

Many of the City’s main sites are all within walking distance of each other, so getting around is quite easy on foot. There are a couple of park and ride car parks either side of the City which avoids the hassle of busy roads, especially during the summer season.

Buses around Cambridge

Stagecoach – www.stagecoachbus.co.uk

Stagecoach operates a network of frequent and reliable buses that provide access to all parts of Cambridge. Several types of tickets are available. In addition, a free city centre shuttle bus service runs every 15 minutes (Mon-Sat, 0900-1800).

Taxis

There are plenty of taxi ranks dotted around the City, but the main ones are at the train and bus stations.

Bicycle Hire

Cambridge is one of the best cycling cities in Britain, with over 130km (80 miles) of cycle lanes and routes.  However if you are not an experienced cyclist you may well wish to avoid the rush hours during term time when many hundreds of student cyclists take to the streets en masse.
